This is the story of a woman called Brigid. At the time of the Celts in Ireland, she was known as the Irish Goddess. There are many legends about her life. There are also many different spellings of her name: Brigid, Brigit, Br'd, Bridget and Bride. She came on the heels of St. Patrick and is seen by many as his "female equivalent" and she was very much loved by the people. Among other things Saint Brigid is the patron saint of midwives and is known to provide protection and good health to all who wear her crosses. We have a St. Brigid cross over our doorway to protect all who enter and the entry to our building has St. Brigid symbols on the railings. This cross is handmade jewelry made in Co.
